Hey everyone,
After doing a google search it seems that I am not the only one who is experiencing this problem. Recently, I took apart my computer to clean it out as my liquid coolant had been making some odd noises. Being that my computer is 3 years old I figured that I may need to replace it, but before doing so I wanted to check everything out. After taking everything apart and hooking everything back into place my sound was not working, but when I viewed my sound devices I had noticed that my Realtek audio device was present. After re-booting my computer I began to smell a burning chemical smell. This scared me thinking that my processor may have been overheating even though on my display it said that it was at 30 C. I immediately powered down the computer and waited until I could pick up some more thermal past before attempting to boot the computer again. After opening the tower once again I removed everything, applied to the paste, put everything back together and re-booted. Although this time, my computers sound failed to work at all. The sound icon in the lower right hand corner shows a red x. The problem seems to be with the high definition audio controller driver. I built this computer through Ibuypower and my warranty is no longer available. I have onboard sound and I'm pretty sure that I have hooked everything back up the way it is supposed to be. Listed below are all the methods I have tried to get my sound back with no luck:

When I got into device manager I have two high definition audio controllers shown, but one of them has a yellow triangle with a exclamation point through it. It continues to tell me that the device failed to load. I've went into services and located both audio things that are supposed to load on startup and it does indeed show that they are running. I stopped both of them and restarted them, but again I still have no audio. I'm guessing for some reason my computer is not recognizing the onboard sound and everytime it attempts to install the driver it fails. I also read there is the possibility it may be interfering with my graphics card. Please let me know if you need any other information and I would be happy to provide.
