After winning the Iron Throne in a successful rebellion against the House Targaryen, King Robert of House Baratheon has ruled the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros for 14 years.
When his most important advisor ‘The Hand of the King’ Jon Arryn dies, Robert travels to his loyal friend Eddard ‘Ned’ Stark, Lord of Winterfell in the North, and asks him to become the new Hand.
